A Palace Fit For Little Kings & Queens
Capalaba Cat Cottage really is a palace for your little king or queen. From the moment you walk down the red carpet and golden bollards and into ‘’The Palace’’ you are greeted in an air-conditioned reception area with a chandelier! The main cattery is air-conditioned and also has 3 chandeliers!
You will notice our beautiful photography wall which highlights some beautiful canvases of Lynda’s photography business CATOGRAPHY.
We know what it is like to leave your fur-babies and go away so we make every effort to ensure you stay connected and informed about how they are doing. Every day we upload photos and videos to our Facebook page so you can check in on kitty. If you need more photos, just ask. It is very important for us to share your kitty enjoying his/her holiday too.
Your little King or Queen will be settled into their suite where they have a golden crowned four posted bed and a decorative feeding bowl. All the suites have a golden crown on the door or wall.
We welcome all pussy cats from tiny tots to aged care. We have extensive experience caring for those with special medical needs eg diabetes, arthritis, hyperthyroidism, renal (kidney) disease.
Feel at ease knowing that your prince or princess will be treated like royalty!

Your Cats Diet
Once your cat has settled into his holiday suit, the next important desire to be met is their diet. Upon arrival we discuss your cat’s feeding pattern and offer a wide choice of premium dried foods, fresh meat and most tinned foods. If your cat is on a vet prescription diet you are welcome to supply this for us to feed to your cat. If your cat’s diet differs from what we provide, please contact us before your visit so we can discuss your cat’s requirements.
We do not change your cat’s normal diet and where possible feed the same brand. This is very important to their settling in and also for when they return home – cats are creatures of habit and like as few changes as possible in their life. By feeding the diet your cat is used to the transition from home to cattery to back home again goes smoothly. Please do not change your cat’s diet a few days before coming into the cattery, or decide your cat needs to lose some weight and ask us to put them on a calorie controlled diet while they are being boarded . This is not the time to stress your cat by starting him on a diet. Food is quite important to most cats and as we often say “Your cat is coming to a holiday resort not a health resort”.
Our Accommodation Options
We have different styles of accommodation – 3 different single style air-conditioned units and family units. Most of our units have either a connecting door or window to their own outdoor area. This enables your cat to wander in and out all day as they please. Unlike dogs, cats do not want to be told when they can have time outside and do not want to be taken to a separate area to play. Even the most timid cat will in their own time, enjoy the fact they can choose when they are ready to venture into the fresh air. This was an important factor in the design of our cattery. Pampered cats like to choose when they wish to snooze in the comfortable plush ‘royal’ bed in the indoor section of their unit or snooze on the chair in their outdoor run. Whoever said life wasn’t meant to be easy certainly wasn’t talking about the cats staying with us at Capalaba Cat Cottage. We know this is one of the successes of our cattery and why the cats settle in so well with us.
We look out for the individual needs of your cats. In the cattery we also have music playing, this is not just any music but ‘Pet Tunes’ which has been scientifically developed (17 years research) to help calm cats. Acoustics for cats! We have witnessed some incredible wonderful moments of anxious cats settling almost immediately. For the oldies, in Winter we have heating mats and hot water bottles. For kittens, we ensure they have extra play time and interaction with us. We have on hand an array of toys and cat products.

Single Units
Great for the single cat on a short stay with us.

Longer Term Units
Needing a bit more space while away on their holiday?

Family Units
Friends can stay together in comfortable, spacious units.
Vaccination
Your cat will require a current cat flu vaccination (F3). This certificate needs to be produced on the day of check-in before your cat will be accepted for boarding. If the vaccination is due for renewal during your cat’s visit please ensure it is done at least 7 to 10 days before entry. This allows your cat’s immune system time to reach an ideal level of protection prior to boarding.
Fleas and Worms
We maintain a high standard and to ensure the welfare of your cat and all other cats staying, every cat that boards here must be free of any fleas, ear mites or worm infestations. If these parasites are detected on your cat he will be treated and this service will be charged to your account. If your cat is due for their monthly flea or heartworm treatment while staying with us you are most welcome to bring it along and it will be administered on the day you ask us to.

Veterinary Care
If your cat requires veterinary attention during his or her stay, we will always endeavour to contact your vet where possible as that is the person you trust to treat your cat. If circumstances prevent this due to location or the hour, or an extreme emergency, our own vet will be contacted. At check-in we will require your vet’s name and contact details and, your mobile number or contact numbers while away. If you are not contactable while away, we will require a contact person with authority to make decisions on your behalf.
You are responsible for all veterinary fees as well as a $55.00 charge which covers the transportation of your cat to the vet.
Older Cats
We love the oldies; they are very important friends in your life and we treat them as extra special. VIP’s!
As it is normal for older cats to sleep a lot, even during the day, the most important issue we address is provision of very comfortable bedding for these seniors and a quiet environment. If they are unable to jump anymore, we can provide some units without high shelving to minimize the risk of injury due to a fall or a missed jump. In winter we give them ‘’hotties’’ to ensure they are extra warm. You are very welcome o bring along any bedding or toys that will help them have the most enjoyable holiday.
Kittens
WE LOVE KITTENS!
Your precious new bay will be in safe hands at Capalaba Cat Cottage!
We have been breeding pedigreed cats for over 10 years and so have a lot of experience in the special needs of kittens. Aunty Lynda and Uncle Mike will love spending those extra moments cuddling and playing end ensuring your kitten gets the interaction he/ she needs. We have lots of cuddles available!
Your beautiful kitten will need to be fully vaccinated before he or she arrives at The Palace.
This is normally with an F3 vaccination.
Your kitten also needs to be desexed by 6 months of age.
Medication
We can administer, according to your instructions any medications you may require us to give your cat for a small fee, including diabetic cats.
Special Requests
Whilst we provide all your cat’s needs for the time he is boarding with us, you are most welcome to bring any special beds, brushes, combs, toys or special treats if you wish and these will be kept with your cat during its stay.
Our Cattery
‘’The Palace’’ as we like to call it is a beautifully designed place. We are a ‘’cat only’’ cattery so it is nice and peaceful for kitty to enjoy his/her holiday. Our main units are air-conditioned and the family units have the airy outdoors.
Have a look through these photos of ‘’The Palace’’ and you will see what we mean. It is a Palace fit for little Kings and Queens.
